IEW is Growing

We'll be improving the Incredible Edible Wakefield website over the next few weeks so that we can feature even more of the wonderful things going on around food and growing in and around Wakefield.

If you are involved in, or know of, a food growing scheme, in your local school or community, whether it's just a couple of window boxes, a raised bed or a whole field, then please contact us so that we can let more people know about it.

Help us to help Wakefield Grow!!

Welcome to Incredible Edible Wakefield

The Incredible Edible Wakefield website has been set up to share ways that we can all make a difference by coming together to increase the amount of healthy, local food, grown and eaten in and around the Wakefield area and in so doing reduce our reliance on supermarkets and big business and help strengthen and support our local communities.

In a world where we face constant reminders about globalization and the twin issues of climate change and peak oil, many people feel concerned for the future and are worried about what more severe weather patterns and the rising cost of fuel may mean for us all.

We aim to inspire and bring together anyone in Wakefield and the surrounding areas who has had enough of feeling powerless and wants to get involved in ideas and projects designed to help create more vibrant and resilient communities.
